“There are few emotions more powerful than hope. It’s a spark inside you that brings a smile to your lips, a light that shows on your face, a feeling that lifts your head and pulls you forward. Hope is what keeps us alive. These days hope often feels hard to come by. But real hope is what the Christian faith claims to offer: a joyful expectation for the future, based on true events in the past, which changes everything about my present. It sounds good… but is it true? Whatever you do or don’t believe, this series is your opportunity to explore, to discuss, to question, to discover. This is Hope Explored.” ~ Hope Explored Handbook

Helpful Questions:
What Is Hope Explored?
Hope Explored is a three-week introduction to the Christian faith. Each week we’ll watch a short film and a talk on the Bible. We’ll also have time for questions and informal discussion. All viewpoints are welcome.
Who Is Hope Explored For?
Hope Explored is for anyone who wants to investigate Christianity informally with a group of other people. Whether or not you have previous experience of Church, Christians, and the Bible, this course is for you. Everyone is welcome - from the most sympathetic church member to the most convinced atheist. We will respect your background, culture, and beliefs. Tell us as little or as much about yourself as you feel comfortable.
How Much Does It Cost?
Nothing. It's completely free as our gift to you, but we do ask you to register.
Why Is Hope Church Doing This?
Christians count it a real privilege to explain the truth and relevance of the Christian message. We don't have all the answers but believe that we have exciting news to share about Jesus Christ. Hope Presbyterian Church desires to be a worshiping community where people can explore the hope of Christianity in a relaxed, non-threatening setting.
How long does the course last?
The course runs for 3 weeks.
Do I have to attend every session?
No, but we recommend it since the sessions build on each other.
What if it isn't for me? Can I back out if I want to?
Of course, you can. There are no obligations.
Am I going to get preached at?
Each session includes a talk designed to explain an aspect of Christian belief to stimulate discussion. Hopefully, you'll find it helpful, but the goal is not to preach at you; it's to stimulate a greater understanding of what Christians believe. The group leader will facilitate discussions and try to answer questions.
Will I be asked to do something “religious”?
No. You are free to sit back and listen. We've established some general Ground Rules to make sure this entire course is non-threatening.
Don't Be Nervous. You'll never be asked to sing, pray, or read out loud.
Respect Everyone. Every person, every question, and every objection will be treated with the utmost respect.
Maintain Trust. Whatever comes up in the room stays in the room unless permission is given to share it.
What curriculum is being used for this course?
Hope Explored is produced by Christianity Explored Ministries.
